We are currently accepting applications for full-time Civilian Paramedics.
This is a single-role civilian paramedic position. Your focus will be EMS — providing advanced life support care, responding to medical and trauma emergencies, and transporting patients throughout Allen County. Civilian paramedics will not have fire suppression responsibilities.

Position Highlights
Position: Civilian Paramedic
Schedule: 24/48-hour schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
Role: Single-Role EMS
Employment: Full-Time
Compensation: Hourly, non-exempt
Civilian Paramedics will provide ALS emergency medical care, respond to medical and trauma emergencies, assess and treat patients, and provide safe patient transportation.
Required Qualifications & Credentials
You will work as part of a growing EMS organization with an emphasis on clinical excellence, continuing education, teamwork, and quality patient care.
Competitive Pay & Longevity
Starting Pay: $65,563 annualized compensation based upon the employee’s regular 24/48 schedule.
In addition to base pay, employees are eligible for longevity pay based on credited paramedic experience.
Prior Paramedic Experience Transfers 1:1
We recognize the value of experience you have already earned as a paramedic.
Eligible prior career paramedic experience will transfer on a 1:1 basis, up to a maximum of five years, for purposes of determining vacation and longevity benefits.
This means qualified prior paramedic experience can help you start at a higher level of vacation and longevity pay rather than starting at zero when you join the Allen County Fire & EMS District.
Five-Year Experience Credit
A paramedic with five years of eligible prior full-time paramedic experience would receive:
Longevity Pay
Longevity pay increases with years of service and tops out at $10,000 annually at 20 years of service.
This provides an opportunity for employees to increase their total compensation as they build a long-term career with the Allen County Fire & EMS District.
Paid Time Off
Vacation time increases with years of service and tops out at 14 vacation days per year at 15 years of service.
Employees also receive 2 personal days per year
