Allen County Fire & EMS District will be seeking dedicated, compassionate, and highly skilled Civilian Paramedics to join our growing EMS team!
As a Paramedic with the District, you will deliver high-quality Advanced Life Support (ALS) patient care, emergency medical response, and patient transport across Allen County. This is a dedicated, single-role civilian EMS position—no fire suppression responsibilities required.

Key Responsibilities
- Advanced Life Support Care: Provide comprehensive pre-hospital assessment, advanced airway management, medication administration, cardiac monitoring, and IV/IO access per district protocols.
- Emergency Response & Transport: Respond safely to high-acuity medical and trauma emergencies and transport patients to receiving medical facilities.
- Apparatus & Operational Readiness: Ensure ambulances, ALS drug bags, cardiac monitors, and lifesaving equipment are fully stocked, inspected, and mission-ready at the start of every shift.
- Patient Advocacy & Professionalism: Represent the District with empathy, respect, and clear communication while upholding HIPAA standards and protecting patient privacy.
- Detailed Clinical Documentation: Complete timely, precise Patient Care Reports (PCRs) and maintain strict compliance with controlled substance accountability.
Qualifications & Credentials
Required:
- Certification: Current, active State of Indiana Paramedic Certification.
- Clinical Credentials: Active credentials in ACLS, PHTLS, and PEPP or PALS.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Licensure: Valid Indiana Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
Preferred:
- Associate Degree in Paramedic Science or a related field.
- Prior ALS field experience (New paramedic graduates are welcome and will complete a structured district orientation and probationary program).
Working Conditions
- Shift Work: Full-time, 24/48 hour schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
- Environment: Dynamic emergency environments, ambulance operation, and clinical handoffs at local receiving facilities.
