The Allen County Fire & EMS District represents a historic step forward in public safety. For several years, local leaders have worked toward a singular goal: providing the most efficient, professional, and reliable fire and EMS services possible for the residents of Allen County.

On January 1, 2027, this vision becomes a reality as five established districts officially unite into one cohesive organization.

The Allen County Fire District is the result of years of diligent planning and collaboration between:

• Northwest Fire District
• Southwest Fire District
• West Central Fire District
• Northeast Fire District
• East Central Fire Territory

By bringing these districts together, we are streamlining our operations, enhancing our training standards, and ensuring that no matter where you are in the county, you receive the highest level of emergency care and protection.

This transition was not built overnight. It is the product of tireless work by a dedicated steering committee including:

• Our Five Fire Chiefs: Providing the operational expertise to lead our crews into a new era.
• Fire Board Members: Ensuring fiscal responsibility and transparent governance.
• Union Representatives: Advocating for the men and women on the front lines to ensure a supported and professional workforce.
• County Leaders: Coordinating the legislative and administrative framework to make a unified district possible.

While our name has changed and our boundaries have expanded, our core mission remains the same: to protect the lives and property of our neighbors. This consolidation allows us to share resources more effectively, improve response times, and invest in the specialized equipment and training necessary for modern fire and emergency medical services.

We are proud of where we came from, but we are even more excited about where we are going together.
